Landfill Classification
All three active landfills are permitted as Class III landfills. Class III landfills accept only non-hazardous municipal solid waste for disposal; no hazardous or liquid waste can be accepted.
Costs
Automobile (any passenger car): $5.00 *
Trucks with less than 880 pounds: $20.00 (minimum amount for trucks)
Hard to handle fee: $5.00 (For items longer than 6 feet) Examples: pieces of wood, mattresses, furniture, etc.
Per ton fee: $55.37 beginning July 1, 2012. (more than 880 pounds)
*Call 714-834-4000 for passenger car definition for questionable vehicles. Anything between the minimum and tonnage rate is prorated based on weight at the scale.
