Take the EcoChallenge!

Save our world

Are you an OC educator looking for a creative way to teach about topics like science, career and environmental engineering? At OC Waste & Recycling not only do we manage the County’s local landfills, but we also employ state-of-the-art engineering and top environmental measures to preserve our local resources. Talking trash is a great way for us to share that expertise while helping to advance education and meet important state recycling goals.

Through our strategic partnerships with the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE), OCDE’s non-profit organization Inside the Outdoors (ITO), Discovery Cube OC and others, we’ve funded, co-developed and reached thousands of students with in-classroom, at-home, off-site or combined learning tools. We offer grade appropriate programs available for simple integration with existing K-12 social studies, STEM and other standards-based curricula and frameworks.

On top of that, we also partner with our regional sports teams, Angels Baseball and Anaheim Ducks Hockey Club, to combine our collective education initiatives and a lot more incentive to make small changes for a big impact. If you’re a teacher, home schooler, PTA president or administrator – these free resources can very easily support classrooms, after school and summer programs, garden programs, field trips and other community or home learning environments. See below.
