Construction & Demolition (C&D) Program

Depending on the type of project, compliance with OC Waste & Recycling's Construction & Demolition (C&D) Program may be required.  The Integrated Waste Management Act of 1989 requires cities and counties to reduce, by 50%, the amount of waste disposed of in landfills or potentially incur fines. 

As a result, there is a 50% diversion requirement associated with applicable construction and demolition projects in order to comply with this State mandate.  Applicants can achieve diversion through reuse, recycling, or composting of construction and demolition materials at County-approved facilities or use of a County Franchised Waste Hauler.  Below, you can find the application packet and other useful information regarding the C&D Program.
